2. Minutes of Meeting of 6th June 2010 were approved.

3. Main Current Issues

a. Entrance Scheme.

Entrance at Patshull Rd/A464 – JB reported that we need to arrange a management scheme for future maintenance. Success is about 90% with the planting generally. Weeding and clear up will generally be left until Oct/Nov/Dec - planned work groups to meet Sat 3/12 and Mon 5/12.

However, two planted  areas at the Patshull Rd/A464 junction have been damaged by the water main flooding – PW has written to Severn Trent for compensation. ADCS will repair the damage.

DH reported that the second tranche of LJC grant had not been received but he would now write to SC to chase up and to ask Andrea who we can write to re the Localism Bill . ACTION: DH

Following Cllr Shelley’s suggestion that ADCS write to ask for funds from the four parish councils we are waiting a reply yet from Donington and DB reported that the request will be considered by APC in July.

RK reported that Alb Traders Association have spoken to D Austin Roses, Albrighton Garden Centre who have agreed to have signs on their property directing people to Alb Village Centre for shops & services.

b) The Flyer was very successful in gaining members with approx £29 taken so far. Thanks go to the Walking-for-Health Group who kindly delivered the flyers and to HL Smith, Maddox and APC who kindly provided the photocopies (ADCS was happy to pay for the paper to APC)

c) Schools Civic Awards Scheme.

There will be a display of the winning entries in the Library from 24 June until Fayre Day.

d) Albrighton Station.

i) Bridges & Platforms:

ADCS to chase up Adam Checkley (NR) to seek a date for the next meeting.

ii) Station Building. PW reported that the quotation from the architect (Terry Bolton) for the initial work for the Stage 1 grant application was very open ended and did not provide any security in the likely total cost. Other options to be considered.

iii) Station Parking. PW had spoken to Tony Perkins, who owns the land alongside the access ramp, but he was asking approx £60k for each of the proposed nine house plots so it was not a viable purchase at that cost. TP asked for £50k for the land behind the bike shed.

SC Planning Officer will meet ADCS at a date to be fixed. District Valuer to be asked for his valuation for the various land options.  ACTION: PW

RK said that Heartwood were likely to be willing to sell their land at the corner of Station Rd/A41. ACTION: PW to contact Heartwood

4. Other items

a) Albrighton Flower Show JB reported that the Civic Society Cup had been awarded for the Best Front Garden and was a successful operation

b) Fayre Day (9 July).

All arrangements have been made.
