2. Minutes of Meeting of 4th November 2013 were approved.

3. Main Issues

a) Treasurer’s Report.
MP had sent an email showing that the Balance stood at £2,570.25.

b) Planters.
Since MP had made the new plantings several members reported that appreciative comments had been made by many residents.

c) Entrance Scheme
DT said that the two areas at Patshull Lane were now looking much better.

d) Albrighton Station
Temporary Access Ramp to Platform 1
NR were still resisting a meeting with us. It may be best to ask Mark Pritchard MP to call a meeting of all parties to try to get some agreement.

4. Matters arising

a) Arts & Heritage Forum (AAHF). As SB could not be at this ADCS committee meeting she had met with PW and she advised the following
A committee meeting was to be held on 9 December at the Crown.
They are considering organising an arts competition for the wider district.
Exhibitions/fayres will not charge an entrance fee - ie free entrance.
Plans are well advanced for activities for Fayre Day Sat 12 July 2014.
At the planned Arts & Crafts Fayre in the Red House on 1st March 2014 some 20 to 25 exhibitors are expected and they will be charged £15 each per stand.
They are considering another exhibition at Easter 2014.

b) Public Notice Board. Alb PC had advised that their initial idea of a second notice board on the Green would not be followed up.

c) Public WC in the Crown Car Park.
ADCS had written to Alb PC in support of keeping the facility. It was not known if the Alb Traders Association had also written. RK reported that at the recent Alb PC meeting the Council had not made any decision to retain or close the WC as at that time the PC did not yet own the building.

5. AOB

a) PL said he had attended the recent WestMASA meeting at Bewdley and had made a presentation of the activities of ADCS. Fred Gick, vice chairman, had commented that it was useful to hear the experiences of a smaller Civic Society as most members of WMASA gave reports from larger town Civic Societies. They were impressed by how much our society had achieved so far since it relatively recent formation.

b) It was felt that the speed visor should be used again in Albrighton. There were two posts already established in Cross Rd for attaching the visors and it felt that SC should be asked to install a visor there for a few weeks. Other sites in Albrighton may also benefit from the intermittent use of a visor to encourage slower speeds – such as near the fire station/Grange Park? DT suggested that SC may be reluctant to attach the visors due to the amount of manpower needed to do so.
